So, my mom is doing okay. As okay as you can be after surgery.

My dad called me this morning to give me the lowdown. Basically they went in through the ribs and sucked all the gunk out of her lung and then peeled off the outside layer of membrane from the lung, the part that was infected.

So now she's on epiderals to control the pain in her chest so she can get up and walk around. The doctors say that the movement will help her get better. so she'll be on epiderals for the next 3 days. If all goes well she'll be going home in 7-10 days, then she's off work for 2 months. For that, i'm jealous. I wish i was off work for 2 months, do you get paid sick leave for something like that?
